School collecting supplies for hurricane victims

DILLWYN — Central Virginia Christian School is collecting needed supplies for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
According to the school, “supplies will be transported to Texas by Gleaning for the World, a faith-based organization that is already on the ground in Texas providing for the needs of people.”
The school is serving as a drop-off point for new and unused supplies, including non-perishable food, manual can openers, diapers, wipes, baby formula, toothbrushes, toothpastes, combs, brushes, pet food (dry or canned), tarps, batteries, matches, clearing supplies, laundry detergent, bottled water, paper products, new blankets and feminine care items.
The collection ends at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
