Operation Christmas Child kick-off set

The South-Central Virginia Operation Christmas Child Team will host its 2017 Operation Christmas Child kick-off event Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., located at the 12 Stones Center of Bethlehem Baptist Church, 393 Winfrey Inez Road, in Dillwyn.
Special guest speaker will be Natasha Ivanova, a shoe box recipient from Belarus. All are invited to attend and refreshments will be served.

The Powhatan Lions Club will host its annual 2017 Labor Day Parade on Monday. The parade will take place at 11 a.m. and lots of food vendors and non-profit organizations will be on hand. Make plans now to attend this great event and all the activities in and around Powhatan Court House.
Happy anniversary wishes are sent out this week to a very special couple: Evangelist Alan and Tammy Gough, who will be celebrating 24 years of marriage Sunday.
