The Shiloh New Covenant Church at 665 Anderson Highway, partnering with Central Virginia FeedMore Program, will operate The Shiloh New Covenant Food Pantry Commodity Supplemental Food Program seniors age 60 years and older.

Food will be distributed Aug. 14 from 1-3 p.m. and organizers will accept applications for new clients, for all seniors 60 and older who live in Cumberland County and meet income rules.

You must bring a form of ID and proof of your monthly income. Also, when you become qualified for this food program, you will be contacted by phone by the food bank director as to when you can pick up food. For more information, contact Nicole Dickson at the church at (804) 492-4613.

A large crowd attended a house shower for Cheyenne Marion, of Cumberland, and Josh Gentry, of Mineral, on Sunday at the Cumberland County Volunteer Fire House. A Sept. 9 wedding is planned.

The 2017 Annual Former Craddock Terry Shoe Factory breakfast meeting is Saturday at 9 a.m. at Teresa’s Place, located 15055 N. James Madison Highway in Dillwyn at Sprouse’s Corner. All former employees and their guests are welcome to attend and should plan to pay for their own meal.

Due to some circumstances beyond our control, the Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, has rescheduled its regular monthly meeting to Monday at 5 p.m. at Arvon Baptist Church at 28350 N. James Madison Highway in New Canton. All members are asked to bring a covered dish for the meal.
