County Administrator and County Attorney Vivian Seay Giles said that the Cartersville Volunteer Fire Department is working with the county to receive a lease at the property adjacent to Firehouse Road.

Giles said in an email that the leased property addressed at the public hearing could potentially be “a lunch fast-food establishment.”

A draft of the lease agreement provided by Giles cited the Cartersville Volunteer Fire Department may use the existing concession stand building on Old Buckingham Road “to operate a short-order food establishment as a fundraising opportunity.”

The concession stand is located adjacent to Madison Ball Park on Route 13 where softball and baseball games are held.

The parcel of land is in Madison Magisterial District of Cumberland County.

A public notice regarding the Tuesday meeting cited supervisors may consider adoption of a resolution or resolutions regarding the county property.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Circuit Courtroom of the Cumberland County Courthouse.
