Food distribution set for residents

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Barry Miles, of Cumberland,  who will turn 54, and Wayne Williams, of Dillwyn, Aug. 18; Mattie Bell Gilliam, of Dillwyn, Aug. 20; and Bonnie McCoy, of Appomattox, Aug. 22.

The Cumberland County Community Food Bank, partnering with the Central Virginia Food Bank, A FeedMore Program of Richmond, will be distributing food to Cumberland County residents — including those who live in Cartersville — on Monday, Aug. 21 from 11a.m.-1 p.m. or until all food is gone located at the old Cumberland County Elementary School Cafeteria at 1874 Anderson Highway.

You must have already registered to get food or you must see Director Jerry Seal. All food recipients, please bring bags.

Congratulations to Dorothy Jones, of Cumberland, who celebrated her 96th birthday Monday.

The 2017 Annual Craddock Terry Shoe Factory breakfast held Saturday at Teresa’s Place in Dillwyn was a success. A large crowd attended and enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, all enjoyed a nice visit Saturday in the home of James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland.

Asking prayer for a long-time pastor friend and his wife, the Rev. Clyde and Eloise Senger, of Crewe, who have been battling health issues.
