Fish fry dinner is Saturday

Spreading God’s Gifts Inc., a non- profit organization of Buckingham that helps people in surrounding counties in their hour of need, will host a benefit fish fry dinner and concert Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church located on Route 20 north of Dillwyn. Dinner will be served from 5-6 p.m. and will include a fried fish plate dinner with all the trimmings for a donation. Eat in or take out.

Beginning at 6 p.m., Chris Lewis and Shelby Taylor and members of Bethlehem Baptist Church, all of Buckingham, will perform. For more information call (434) 983-2269.

A special celebration was held July 31 at Pino’s Italian Restaurant in Dillwyn for Sam Givens, of Cumberland, who celebrated his 27th birthday. Friends and family members all enjoyed a great food, fun and fellowship.

Cedar Baptist Church, located 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, would like to invite everyone to its homecoming with Sunday school at 10 a.m., followed by worship service at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow in the fellowship hall. There will be a song service at 1:30 featuring the Oak Hill Quartet. The Rev. Jerry Gray from Iva, South Carolina will be conducting the revival services on Monday-Friday. The services will begin each night at 7 p.m. with special music, including Second Time Around on Monday; Smokey Wilson on Tuesday; Eilidh Camacho on Wednesday; Barry Snoddy on Thursday; and Chris Lewis on Friday.

The 2017 annual former Craddock Terry Shoe Factory breakfast meeting will be held Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. at Teresa’s Place at 15055 N. James Madison Highway at Sprouse’s Corner. All former employees and their guests are welcome to attend and should plan to pay for their own meal. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting its regular monthly meeting Monday at 5 p.m. at Arvon Baptist Church at 28350 N. James Madison Highway in New Canton.
