The Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association Debs All-Star team has now made it back-to-back years that it has gone undefeated in the Dixie Softball Debs All-Star State Tournament and advanced to the Debs World Series in Alexandria, Louisiana. Nine of the 12 girls on the team are back from last year’s team, which was the first PEFYA Debs squad to ever win a state championship and advance to the World Series. This year, the Prince Edward-Farmville team capped off its 5-0 run in the state tourney with a 7-4 title-clinching win over the Halifax All-Stars. The PEFYA Debs, representing Virginia, will face North Carolina on Saturday at 9 a.m. to help open play at the World Series.
