Mary Catherine “Cathy” Staton, 58, of Dillwyn, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2017.  She was born August 19, 1958, in Richmond, the daughter of Meredith Spencer Staton and the late John E. Staton, Sr. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Dillwyn, where she served as Assistant Sunday School Director and Assistant Sunday School teacher for many years.

Cathy is survived by her mother; brother, John E. Staton, Jr. (Vickie); nephew, John E. Staton, III; niece, Jennifer S. Taylor (Garrett); great-nephew, Walker M. Taylor and other relatives.

The family would like to thank Centra Pace of Farmville and Hickory Hill Memory Care Unit of Burkeville for all the love and care shown to Cathy.

Funeral services were held July 16, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Dillwyn with interment in the Staton Family Cemetery.
