Prince Edward County Public Schools was well represented by a small group of female student-athletes at the recent 19th annual East Coast Invitational track and field meet held at I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth. In the 15- to 16-year-old age group, Makayla Morris won the high jump with a five-foot jump and placed third in the long jump. Salma Muhammad won the long jump with a 15-1 leap. Nia Lee placed third in the 100-meter hurdles. In the 11- to 12-year-old age group, Saye Woodard took second in the 400-meter dash with a time of one minute, 10 seconds, and she placed second in the long jump.
