Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Florence Miles, of Jetersville, Wednesday, and to Steve Morris and Grace Martin, both of Dillwyn, July 13.
The 2017 Annual Ashburn Family Reunion was held on June 24 at Bear Creek Lake State Park. A large crowd attended and enjoyed great food, fun, fellowship and music.
Shiloh New Covenant Church, at 665 Anderson Highway in Cumberland, which partners with Central Virginia FeedMore Program, will operate The Shiloh New Covenant Food Pantry Commodity Supplemental Food Program seniors age 60 years and older.
Food will be distributed Monday from 1-3 p.m. Organizers will accept applications for new clients — all seniors 60 and older who are a Cumberland County resident and qualify based on income. You must bring a form of ID and proof of your monthly income. Also, when you become qualified for this food program, you will be contacted by phone from the food bank director when you can start your pick up for the food.

Rodney and Sandra Ownby and Annie May Miles, all of Dillwyn, along with Rene Marion and Casey Ingle, both of Cumberland, all enjoyed lunch at Vito’s Italian Restaurant of Cumberland on June 25.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will host its regular monthly meeting Monday at 5 p.m. at Vito’s Italian Restaurant in Cumberland.

Victory Baptist Church, located at 157 Dove Lane, Spout Springs, will host special services on July 16. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. will be morning worship. This will be high-attendance Sunday with a goal of 150 or more.
Lunch will be served at the Woodman of the World building on Harold Street in Appomattox following the morning worship service. At 2 p.m some good old gospel music will be performed by One Accord.
