Browns Chapel United Methodist Church will be having homecoming on July 23. Sunday school will be held at 9 a.m. Old Time Gospel singers from Crewe will perform at 10 a.m. Worship will be held at 11 a.m., and lunch will follow worship at noon. Revival will be held on Monday through Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. with speaker Rev. Mike Mosely. On Monday, Dillwyn Baptist will perform. Tuesday, Chris Lewis will be joining the service and Wednesday will conclude with Sarah Garcia. All are welcome.

Buckingham County Public Schools will be back in session beginning Thursday, Aug. 3. Please be aware of busses on the roads and school-aged children boarding. Some parents will be transporting their children so there will be more cars on the roads in the early mornings and after 3 p.m. on weekdays. Help keep everyone safe and look out for our young citizens. Who can believe the brief summer break is almost over?

Buckingham County High School Freshman Orientation will be held Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. Open house for grades 10-12 will be held on Aug. 1 from 5-7 p.m.

Sprouse’s Corner Ranch, LLC is holding an Advanced Horse Camp from July 31-Aug. 4 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. At this camp, campers, ages 7-17, will have developed an independent seat at the walk, trot and canter. Movie Night in the park will be held Friday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Buckingham County Community Park, behind Dollar General in Dillwyn. Movie begins at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Please be courteous to those around you and do not block others’ view. Ground seating is only for the first 25 feet. Outside food and picnic items are welcome. Concessions are also available for purchase to support local community organizations. Sorry, no alcohol or pets allowed.
