Benefit gospel concert set

Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Marie Adams, of Farmville, on Friday, Chris Cooke, of Cartersville, and Glenna Marie Cooke, of Farmville, and Thomas Newton, of New Canton, all Tuesday, Charlotte Morris, of Dillwyn, on Wednesday and Virginia Doss, of Appomattox, on Thursday.

The 2017 annual former Craddock Terry Shoe Factory breakfast meeting will be held on Saturday Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. at Teresa’s Place located 15055 N. James Madison Highway, Dillwyn next to Sprouses Corner. All former employees and their guest are welcome to attend and plan to pay for their own meal. Welcome Wesleyan Church, located one mile North of Central Virginia Health Center on U.S. Route 15, will be hosting a Pancake Supper Benefit Gospel Concert on Saturday, July 29 from 5-7 p.m. The Concert will begin at 7 p.m. with gospel music at its best featuring Sarah Garceau, Paula Dinsmore, Jerry Moneymaker, McKinzie Tillman and Barry Snoddy. This benefit is for Crystal Wharam Agee of New Canton who is battling cancer.

Browns Chapel United Methodist Church located U.S. Route 15 north of Dillwyn on state Route 617, Gravel Hill Road, will be hosting their Annual Homecoming and RevivaL services starting Sunday through Wednesday. Homecoming services will begin on Sunday, July 23 at 10 a.m. with Bluegrass Gospel Music at its best featuring The Old Time Gospel Singers from Crewe. Morning worship will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rebecca Cook.

Following the morning worship service, lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall.

Revival Services will be held Monday, July 24 through Wednesday, July 26 at 7 p.m. nightly. The Rev. Mike Mosley will be the guest speaker. Special music Monday with First Baptist Church Choir of Dillwyn, Tuesday night Chris Lewis, of Arvonia, and on Wednesday night Sarah Garceau. Pastor Rebecca Cook and the entire congregation cordially invite all to attend.

Lighthouse Church of God of Prophecy located 2039 Patrick Henry Highway on East 360 in Burkeville will be hosting Southern Gospel Music at its best on Saturday, July 29 at 6 p.m. featuring The Son’s Family from Meads, Kentucky.
