A controlled burn at the Prince Edward and Charlotte county line is causing a haze — both of smoke across the region and in residents’ minds as to where the smoke is originating.

According to Town of Farmville spokeswoman Kate Pickett Eggleston, the weather conditions, notably the wind, are allowing for some smoke resulting from the burn to spread throughout the area.

Many residents and those traveling through town have inquired to The Herald about where the smoke is coming from.
