Howard ‘Stoney’ Moss

Stoney passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital with family by his side.
He was born on February 2, 1942 in Dillwyn, the son of the late John Edward “Bumpsey” Moss and Clannie Lee “Sug” Moss.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Newton Moss; brothers Marshall J., Edward Lee, Melvin J., and Alexander Moss; and sisters Louise Moss Gunter and Audrey Mae Moss.
He is survived by his twin sisters, Lois Moss Jamerson of Dillwyn and Lorine Moss Martin of Anderson S.C., and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
If you didn’t see Stoney on a lawnmower, he was out visiting around town. Stoney was a fixture in the community and never met a stranger. He had many friends that he loved to visit around the local businesses and he always met everyone with a wink and a smile. He will truly be missed by many.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Dillwyn Town Cemetery.
