Though hundreds of high school seniors took to stages and platforms across the Heart of Virginia recently, there are many who — for many reasons out of their control — weren’t able to finish high school and receive their degrees with the traditional pomp and circumstance alongside their classmates and friends. For many, a high school equivalent, or a GED, is the best way to earn credentials for a job or to continue on to college or a trade school. We congratulate and commend the recent graduates who received their GEDs at a ceremony held at Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville on June 15.
