Classic vehicles ranging from a 1915 Model-T Ford to a 2014 Dodge Challenger were on display during the Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club’s monthly Cruise In, which took place Friday at the Tractor Supply and the former Schewels Furniture parking lot on South Main Street in Farmville.
Each vehicle has its own story, 1966 Ford Galaxie owner Bruce Goyette said. He and a few other car owners brought photo albums showing the restoration progress for their vehicles.

Goyette said he received the car from a friend who lives in South Carolina, and that he had to sell other cars in order to fund the restoration for the Galaxie.
“There’s a story behind everything here,” Goyette said, who added he could spend hours discussing the different repairs.
Another restored vehicle from an earlier era was a 1915 Model-T Ford, which was transported by a truck but drove easily through the parking lot.
Owner Tom Smith said he and his father purchased the Model-T in Kansas in 2007. He said parts could be difficult to come by, but that a “good support” system was in place where other Model-Ts or Model-T parts owners could exchange supplies.
Three were awarded trophies during the event. The third-place winner was Tom and Jerry Smith for the 1915 Ford Model-T, the second-place winner was Bruce Goyette for the 1966 Ford Galaxie and the first-place winner was Tom Ashton with the 1965 Plymouth Belvedere, according to Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club President Danny Dunn.
