A Cumberland County man died at the scene of a vehicle accident Saturday evening on Route 600, south of Route 643 in Cumberland County, according to a release from Virginia State Police.

Police say the accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. and the driver of the vehicle, Kemothy D. Boatwright, 41, died following the accident.

A 1995 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling along Route 600 when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned, according to the release.

Boatwright was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the release, and was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Virginia State Police Trooper T.V. Garner is investigating the fatal crash, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
