David Ross Dunkum

David Ross Dunkum, 62, of New Canton, died June 7, 2017.  He was born June 15, 1954 in Charlottesville, a son of the late George Lumsden Dunkum and Bertha Williams Dunkum.  He was the husband of the late Sharon Vickery Dunkum.  David was a retired timekeeper for the Virginia Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his brother, John Michael Dunkum of Mechanicsville and his wife, Janice; a sister-in-law, Diana C. Dunkum; and four nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Richard Dunkum.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Buckingham Baptist Church with interment in the Buckingham Baptist Church Cemetery.   

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
