Deyta Analytics — a division of HEALTHCARE first — has named Centra Hospice Farmville a 2017 Hospice Honors recipient. According to a Centra press release, Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.
“Award recipients are identified by evaluating hospices’ performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures,” Centra officials said.
The release cited that individual hospice performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and are compared on a question-by-question basis to a national performance score calculated from all partnering hospices contained in Deyta Analytics’ Hospice CAHPS database.
Officials said Hospice care is about helping patients and families live as fully as possible given the reality of their illness.
“Our committed team, which also includes trained volunteers, focuses on symptom control, pain management, emotional and spiritual support tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes,” officials said.
“We are very proud of our dedicated, caring team of hospice professionals who have earned this award two years in a row,” said Thomas Angelo, vice president and CEO of Centra Southside Community Hospital.
