Over spring break, Longwood University students were busy. Students painted a map of Virginia, which differentiated the five regions, at Buckingham County Primary School. The next day, nine students met at Prince Edward County Elementary School and repainted the school’s map of the United States. The college students were from a variety of majors, including health and physical education, teacher education, exercise science, special education and liberal studies. Dr. Matt Lucas and Dr. Vonnie Colvin (retired) from the Longwood Department of Health, Athletic Training and Recreation coordinated the effort. The map project began in 2013.
