A 36-year-old Burkeville man was indicted April 18 on a malicious wounding charge in connection with a domestic dispute that allegedly took place in the 1800 block of Grape Lawn Road.

According to a Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office press release, Tariq Hassan Kirby was arrested originally on Dec. 23.

“That charge, along with two direct indictments for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony will be heard in Prince Edward Circuit Court on May 26 at 10 a.m.,” police said in the release.
