The Lord has certainly blessed us with some much-needed rain. Remember, April showers bring May flowers.
Wedding bells rang out at the Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church in Tuggle on Saturday as Jennifer Page Bolt became the bride of Trae Jones. Her grandmother, Mrs. Flora Bolt, was happy she was able to attend the wedding as well as the rehearsal dinner held at Charleys Waterfront Café on Friday evening.
Mark your calendar as Saturday there will be a spaghetti supper at the Prospect Firehouse from 5-7 p.m. The supper will include salad, bread, tea, lemonade and dessert. The cost is a donation at the door. The Prospect Fire Department Auxiliary organizes the supper.
Last Wednesday, Pat Smith enjoyed lunch at the home of Nancy Pisano. Mary Jo Stockton celebrated her birthday last Monday with many pleasant surprises, one being the lovely cake her son Sean made for her.
Flora Bolt was luncheon guest of her daughter-in-law Judy Bolt on Sunday following the worship service.
Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Betty Meadows, Don Meadows, Betsy Faraci, Gary Fiscus, Jean P. Derrenbacker, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.
Calvary Chapel Farmville church invites the community to join it for an evening of music and drama to be held at Crute Stage in downtown Farmville at the corner of Fourth and Main streets Sunday at 6 p.m. Free homemade ice cream will be served.
The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday. Richard Boswell will be the guest speaker Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.
Calvary Chapel Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
Prospect United Methodist Church will have its homecoming on May 7 at 11:15 a.m. Pastor John Flood, of Swain Memorial UMC, Tangier Island, will be preaching. Drew Bowles will provide special music. A covered-dish dinner will begin following the service in the fellowship hall. The church will provide meat and drinks. Prospect UMC is located at 707 Prospect Road in Prospect. Revival is planned at Prospect United Methodist Church beginning May 8 continuing through May 10. Flood will preach both Monday and Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m.
All Problems Solved will provide special music with Worm Patterson on Monday and Smokey Wilson on Tuesday. On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the last evening of this revival, Pastor Billy Swan, of the Dillwyn Charge, will preach. The Salem United Methodist Church Choir will join him. Refreshments will be served following the close of the revival. All in the community are welcome to join us.
