Fuqua School junior Brinley Thomas has been accepted into Cornell University’s Summer College program, “Equine Practice: A Veterinary Perspective.”

“Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine, consistently ranked the number one veterinary school in the nation, accepts only 35 students into this hands-on program to learn about horses from a veterinary perspective,” school officials said in a press release. “(Thomas) will study the anatomy and physiology of the horse, breeding, foal care, common illnesses, nutrition and how to administer equine first aid.”

Officials say much of this comes naturally to Thomas “since she has raised her nine-year-old Tennessee Walking horse, RPM’s Harley Baby, since he was one.”
