Centra Southside Community Hospital will host a wine tasting event to benefit the March of Dimes on Friday at the Virginia Tasting Cellar, located at 201 C Mill Street under Charleys Waterfront Cafe in Farmville.
The event will be held from 5-7 p.m.
“We do a push every year to raise money for the March of Dimes,” said Hospital Marketing Director Kerry Mossler. “We typically do a walk. We do a fun run, we do a bake sale, and this year, we’re trying a wine tasting. We had done one for the United Way last year, and it was very successful,” Mossler said.
Admission is $12 at the door. Those who attend will receive a glass and 10 tastings from the vineyards of Virginia, event organizers say. Five dollars of each admission goes directly to the March of Dimes “to help fight premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.”
“There also will be a special-priced menu upstairs at Charleys on the night of the wine tasting, with proceeds benefiting the March of Dimes,” event organizers said.
“Charleys is very generous, as always,” Mossler said, adding the restaurant would provide appetizers.
The event, she said, will include door prizes and games and “just plain fun.”
Tickets may also be purchased online at Eventbrite.com.
