Less than 24 hours after a 4-3 gut-check Big South Conference home win over UNC Asheville, the Longwood University men’s tennis team completed its weekend sweep with a dominant 4-0 victory over visiting Morgan State University on Sunday morning at the Hampden-Sydney Tennis Courts.
The win was the sixth in the past seven matches for the streaking Lancers (9-2, 3-1 in the Big South), who currently sit in second place in the conference tied with Campbell University.
Clutch victories in singles play drove Longwood’s success over the weekend.
Among the Lancers to register wins Sunday were freshman Arthur Bardellotto, 7-6, (7-3), 6-1, freshman Amadeo Blasco, 6-0, 6-2, and junior Jorge Gomis, 6-4, 6-4.
Longwood visits James Madison University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
