According to a release, the volunteers removed litter from the Appomattox River, Buffalo Creek, Gross Creek, Briery Creek Reservoir, Sandy River Reservoir and Wilck’s Lake.
Fifteen FAR members and five (H-SC) students collected 35 bags of trash, totaling approximately 700 pounds.
“In addition, other items collected included barbed wire fencing, a bicycle, plastic auto grille, a 30-gallon trash can, plastic bucket, a plastic CD storage tower and 10 auto tires for a grand total of approximately 916 pounds of trash. The Town of Farmville provided trash receptacles and disposal,” organizers said.
