More than 1,300 homes in Buckingham are without power following a reported issue on a transmission line.

According to a press release from Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC), American Electric Power (AEP), the transmission services provider to CVEC’s Centenary substation, has dispatched a transmission line crew to the problem area.

Officials said in the release AEP anticipates that repairs will be completed between 10 p.m.-midnight.

“CVEC understands the impact that the transmission outage has had on it members and has pressed for the earliest repair and restoration of service,” CVEC officials said.
