Many hands make light work for Habitat

It takes a village to raise a child, the old adage goes. It also takes a village to support communities and the families who live in them. The second annual Gospel Explosion benefiting the Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity’s work in Buckingham, held Saturday at the Crystal Cathedral in Dillwyn, is an excellent example of this. The event, which included performances from a number of gospel groups and artists, netted a large love offering for members of our community who need it the most — partners working with Habitat for safe and secure homes. We commend the community for rallying behind Habitat builds in Buckingham. Pictured are Betty Saulisbury, left, and Donna McRae Jones — two valiant supporters of Habitat who lent a helping hand during the event.
