Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Wayne Lipscomb, of Cumberland, Sunday, Feb. 19; Will Cloud, of Cumberland, and Gail Thomas, of New Canton, both on Thursday Feb. 23.
Happy anniversary wishes are sent out this week to Sammy and Debbie Kress, of Spout Springs, and Pastor Clyde and Eloise Senger, of Crewe, on Monday, Feb. 20.
Welcome home to our dear friend in Christ Eleanor Newton, of New Canton, who spent several days at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville after encountering some health problems. She is said to be doing OK as of this writing.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut in Dillwyn and surrounding areas.
Please pray for our dear friend in Christ Nellie Moss, of Dillwyn, whom, as of this writing, is between the hospital and rehab.
Victory Baptist Church at Spout Springs will be hosting its first-annual dinner and Christian version of Family Feud on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Woodman of the World building located at 318 Herald St. in Appomattox.
Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. with games for the children at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Christian version of the Family Feud.

Victory Baptist Church, 157 Dove Lane, Spout Springs, will host special services on Sunday Feb. 26.
Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. following morning worship at 10:30 a.m. with southern gospel music at its best featuring “The Singing Burrells” of Appomattox, followed by old-fashioned preaching from Worley.
Worley and the entire congregation cordially invites all to attend.
Visiting in the home of James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, recently was his sister Elizabeth Stone and her daughter Linda Seay, both of Richmond.
Our sympathy is extended to the Ownby family of Cumberland. John Loy “Junie” Ownby Jr., age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday Feb. 5.
In honor of Grace Hudgins 94th birthday on Thursday, Barry and Linda Miles and Grace’s sister, Mae Rutherford, all of Cumberland and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, enjoyed birthday supper at Teresa’s Place in Dillwyn.
Ralph and Fern Dunnavant, of Dillwyn, visited Fern’s mother Myrle Gibson of Covington on Monday, Feb. 6.
