The February meeting of the Third Thursday Book Club included a tour of the Victorian house, Stanley Park, the home of Gordon Johnson and Alecia Daves-Johnson. In 1875, an Englishman, John Stanley James, came to Farmville and built this mansion. About 15 years ago, the Johnsons learned that the house was going to be demolished and they decided to take on the project of disassembling and moving it. The restoration is complete and this beautiful building has been saved. Pictured are, from left, Gordan, Alecia and Martha Taylor.
