BUCKINGHAM — The Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club will hold an Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) Educational Forum on property rights and environmental issues Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Buckingham County Middle School on Route 60.
The event, according to a press release, will be held in the school’s cafeteria.
The purpose of the event, organizers said, is to inform and educate “the general public on landowner rights, environmental issues, the federal review process and economic impacts concerning the ACP.”
The Sierra Club has opposed the pipeline project since its inception.
If granted federal approval, the project would include a 600-mile natural gas pipeline that would span Buckingham, including a 53,783 horse power natural gas fired compressor station on Route 56.
The event is free and open to the public.
