The impressive 2016-17 run of Buckingham County High School’s varsity girls basketball team came to a close Wednesday with a 74-36 loss to host No. 1 Gretna High School in the Courthouse Conference 37 tournament semifinals.

The No. 4 Lady Knights fell behind 17-2 after the first quarter, fought back in the second and third, but did not outscore the Lady Hawks in any quarter.

Buckingham sophomore guard Jayda Chambers led her team with 14 points. The Lady Knights finished at 13-8.
