FARMVILLE — The town of Farmville recently hired Kate Pickett Eggleston as a communications specialist and Sheldon “Shelly” Butler as new golf course manager.

According to a press release, both Eggleston and Butler live in Farmville.

Eggleston previously worked at Letterpress Communications, the firm that developed and designed the new town website, according to the release. “While at Letterpress, she also worked on monthly communications for the town, including a digital newsletter, website updates and press releases.”

Butler, officials said in the release, has years of experience in customer service, sales and supervision of other employees.

Eggleston earned her bachelor’s degree and Master of Public Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, while Butler has a degree in Business Administration and Management from Meredith College.

Eggleston and Butler began their new positions last week.
