The varsity boys and girls basketball teams for Buckingham County High School and Cumberland High School will face off for the “Battle of Route 60” on Wednesday. The boys teams will play at Buckingham, while the girls teams will play at Cumberland. Tipoffs for both games are set for 7 p.m.
“It’s always been a great rivalry with Cumberland,” Knights Head Coach Russ Gowin said. “Both teams seem to play the best when we play each other.”
Speaking of the boys games, he said they always seem to be fast-paced and high-scoring.
Lady Dukes Head Coach Omar Liggins expects an exciting contest on the girls side.
“It’s just always been an up-and-down game,” he said.
