Prince Edward, Buckingham and Cumberland Football Teams Receive All-Region Honors

The varsity football teams for Prince Edward County High School, Buckingham County High School and Cumberland High School had representation among the 2016 Virginia High School League all-region honors.
For the Eagles, senior Brandon “Tray” Scott was named to the 2A East All-Region second team as a kick returner.
Scott was also named to the All-Conference 34 first team as both a running back and a return specialist.
For the Knights, junior Bryce Leake was named to the 2A West All-Region second team as a linebacker.
Prior to that, he was also selected to the All-Courthouse Conference 37 first team as a linebacker.
For the Dukes, senior Jaylen Gilliam received 1A East honorable mention as both an offensive lineman and defensive end, and senior Brandon Leabough received honorable mention as a defensive back.
Gilliam also made the All-Conference 42 first team as an offensive lineman and defensive end, and Leabough made it as a defensive back.
