BLOOD DRIVE, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Prince Edward County High School gym.

JANUARY 28

YOUTH BOOK SWAP, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Buckingham branch library. Start fresh in the new year by bringing in gently used books from home and trade them in for “new to you” books. Board books, picture books, chapter books and any other book intended for children or teens are welcome.

JANUARY 29

CMEC BENEFIT PROGRAM, 2 p.m. for Bright Hope Center, 3883 Cumberland Roadd, Cumberland, with Food and Open Gospel Mic. Featured guest is Brother Earnest Allen and Voices of Praise, Brother Chris Lewis, of Mt. Airy, and others, in addition to New Creation at 4 p.m.

CONCERT, 3 p.m. by the All for Christ and More Than Blessed at the VFW Hall in Buckingham, located on Route 60. Concert will benefit Pastor Michael Mosley and First Lady Porscha Mosley, who will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya in Africa on a mission trip.

CONCERT, 3 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Upper Room Baptist Church. Denise and the Travelaires will be in concert. Sponsored by the Prince Edward Deacon’s Union.

FEBRUARY 2

PORK BUTTS, cooked by the Rice Volunteer Fire Department for Super Bowl Weekend. They will be ready for pick up Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Price is $25 each. Call (434) 392-8737 to reserve, or contact any Rice Firemen. Only 200 being prepared.

FREE FAMILY WORKSHOP, 10:30 a.m. at LCVA in downtown Farmville.

CALLED MEETING, 11 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church of Keysville. This meeting concerns church officers for 2017.  All active members are asked to attend.

BRUNSWICK STEW, 8 a.m. until at the Pamplin Fire Department, sponsored by Pamplin No. 58 Eastern Star. Stew is $8 per quart. Orders can be reserved in advance, for early pickup on Saturday before noon, by calling (434) 248-5780 or (434)390-7124.

WINTER PROGRAMMING PARTNERSHIP, 7 p.m. High Bridge Trail State Park invites you to attend a “Come in from the Cold” winter programming partnership with the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library, 1303 W. 3rd St. Ranger Bob Flippen presents a PowerPoint presentation on “Faith and Poverty, The Farmville-Powhatan Railroad.” All are welcome to attend. FEBRUARY 11

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY, 2:30 p.m. at the Midway Baptist Church for the Rev. Irma T. Watson. Praise and prayer service begins at 2:30 p.m. and worship service will begin at 3 p.m. The guest minister will be Elder Keven Caleb, pastor of Thessalonia Baptist Church in Bremo Bluff, along with his choir and ushers.  Midway is located at 837 Guinea Road in Farmville. All are welcome.
