Royce Rankin Haralson

Royce Rankin Haralson, 72, formerly of Culpeper, passed away on November 28, 2016 in Farmville.  She was born on March 4, 1944 to Charles Lloyd and Emuel Pence Rankin in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She grew up in countries all over the world before graduating from Garfield High School in Woodbridge. She later graduated from Longwood College in Farmville and earned an MBA from National Louis University in 1993.

She raised her two children in Reston. Her hobbies included travel, scuba diving, cooking, and entertaining. She also earned her private pilot’s license in 1972. In 2004, she retired from Global One Telecom after a career as an international contract administrator and settled in Culpeper.

She is survived by her children, a son, Scott Martin Harwood Jr. (Kimberley W.) of Farmville; daughter, Kimberly Harwood Morris of Culpeper; one grandson, Timothy Blair Morris Jr. of Culpeper; her sister, Kathleen Huddle of Fredericksburg; and a nephew, Kasey Bentley of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by the father of her children, Scott Martin Harwood Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Cody Magargal.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 at Culpeper Presbyterian Church with Dr. Wayne Bernardo officiating.
