PE’s Walton, Moses win events at Fork Union meet

Seniors Rajai Walton and Bryan Moses represented Prince Edward County High School’s indoor track program with first-place finishes at the recent Fork Union Invitational.
Walton won the boys high jump with a 6-foot, 4-inch leap. He also placed second in the boys 300-meter dash, finishing in 38.56 seconds, and he claimed third in the boys triple jump with a 38-8 1/4 mark.
Moses won the boys 55-meter dash with a 6.64-second finish. His 5-8 leap made him tied for third in the high jump, and he placed fourth in the 300 by finishing in 39.01 seconds.
Both Walton and Moses were part of the boys 4×200-meter relay team that placed second with a time of 1:38.47. The other team members included senior Brandon Scott and junior Zion Lewis.
Sophomores Jordan Booker and Salma Muhammad and freshmen Makayla Morris and Mia Seay made up the Lady Eagles 4×200 relay team that finished with a time of 1:56.94, good for second place.
Among those placing second individually were Scott, with a 6.76-second time in the 55, Morris, with a 5-foot leap in the girls high jump, and freshman Naomi Jones, with a 1:31.46 time in the girls 500-meter run.
Third-place individual finishers included Booker, in the girls triple jump, senior Markeem Trent in the boys shot put and junior Montiera Wynn in the girls 300-meter dash.
