I’m voting for Joe Hines for state senator for several important reasons in our area.
First, Joe was born and raised in Rice and understands our problems, needs and concerns are different from the Lynchburg area.
He also is easy to contact and returns calls promptly, something a lot of politicians neglect to do.
Second, Joe is an organized leader who is recognized in the business world for that ability.
Not only does it show up in the work place, but Joe also serves as vice chairman of the graduate school of business at Duke University, which happens to be one of the best in the country.
Third, Joe already has knowledge and training in working with numerous municipalities throughout Virginia and North Carolina.
As an engineer with a firm that has had both Farmville and Prince Edward as clients, he is quite familiar with melding municipal needs with state requirements.
Running as an independent, he will be able to make his own decisions and not just vote the way a political party tells him.
Joe Hines is definitely a man worthy of your vote in the upcoming special January election to fill U.S. Rep.-elect Tom Garrett’s empty state Senate seat.
Please vote because it will be a competitive race.
