Cumberland teacher wins impact award
Pamela Stepko, center, a second-grade teacher at Cumberland Elementary School (CES), recently received the 2016 Impact Award at the Virginia Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development’s (VASCD) annual conference. Impact awards are presented each year to eight educators, one from each superintendent’s region. Stepko is the recipient for Region 8. Recipients must exemplify excellence in teaching, learning and leadership. Also attending the conference were Superintendent Dr. Amy Griffin, left, and CES Principal Virginia Gillis. We’re sure all the kids in her class are saying, “Way to go, Mrs. Stepko!” (Send “Way to Go” photos with names and a description to waytogo@farmvilleherald.com.)
