Nottoway routs Dukes

The Cumberland High School varsity football team lost 47-6 to host Nottoway High School on Friday, once again struggling to succeed in the face of many injuries.
Despite the loss, the Dukes produced some noteworthy individual performances. Senior Brandon Leabough had nine carries for 69 yards and threw a touchdown pass to senior James Booker.
Sophomore Kahare Sutton continued to impress, leading the Dukes defense with 10 total tackles.
Cumberland (1-8) closes out its season Friday at 7 p.m. when it faces off against visiting Central Lunenburg High School (7-2).
