- MARTIN L. CAHN | HERALD MSNBC's Craig Melvin listens to an interview subject answer a question during a live segment from Longwood's Brock Commons behind Granger Hall. Melvin is one of about 2,000 credentialed media on hand for Tuesday's Vice Presidential Debate.
MSNBC is just one of several networks broadcasting live from Longwood University throughout Debate Day on Tuesday. The cable network started fairly early, asking students to join its various anchors to watch the broadcasts.
Among the MSNBC anchors interviewing subjects on the network’s stage around 10 a.m. was Craig Melvin. Melvin started his career as a reporter and anchor on NBC affiliate WIS-TV in Columbia, S.C., from 2001-2008. In 2008, he moved to Washington, D.C., and joined NBC affiliate WRC-TV as weekend news anchor. He joined MSNBC in 2011 and is now an MSNBC Live contributing anchor and co-anchor of Weekend Today.
