Hampden-Sydney football falls to 0-4 with 45- 35 loss at Bridgewater

The Hampden-Sydney College football team opened up Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday, scoring the final 15 points of the game but falling 45-35 to host Bridgewater College.
There was no shortage of offense, with the two teams combining for 973 total yards. The Tigers tallied 522 total yards with 376 coming through the air and 146 on the ground.
Alec Cobb (Jamestown, N.C./Ragsdale) was 19-of-32 passing for 223 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Clay Vick (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road) was 9-of-16 for 146 yards and a touchdown. Cam Johnson (Dillwyn/Buckingham) led all receivers with 153 yards and a touchdown on 10 catches, while Owen Costello (South Riding/Paul VI) scored two touchdowns with 95 yards on eight grabs.
Carter Cunningham (Farmville/Fuqua) had 92 yards of offense with three catches for 35 yards and eight carries for 57 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, Jamal Woolridge (Chester/Thomas Dale) led the way with nine tackles.
The Tigers (0-4, 0-1 ODAC) host Guilford College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
