The Prince Edward Golf teams have played at the Longwood Golf Course for many years. The staff at the Longwood Golf Course has always gone out of its way to accommodate our golf team over the years.
When Longwood University announced the golf course would close, it left me as the athletic director no choice but to search for another venue to practice and host our matches.
The Farmville Municipal Golf Course and The Manor were both very open to our golf team playing at their courses. The proximity of The Manor and their practice facilities was a deciding factor for the team to play at The Manor. Doug Treen and the staff have been awesome to work with and, just as the Longwood staff, he and the staff at The Manor went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our golfers, as well as golfers from other schools, loved playing at such a top- notch facility.
Hopefully, the experience at The Manor will encourage young golfers from the area to take up the game of golf and continue to develop our golf program as well as others in this area.
Thanks again for allowing us to play at your beautiful golf course.
