Union Branch Baptist Church in Arvonia hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Reception on Oct. 15, with several members sharing testimonies. James Bolten, for example, shared testimony of losing his wife to breast cancer and having to raise three daughters on his own. Andre Chambers and Madison Bryant performed a liturgical dance. There was a silent auction and attendees had the opportunity to give a freewill donation to the cause. Some attendees also filled out “Stand Up to Cancer” placards after donating in memory of those lost to breast cancer or in honor of survivors.
