William Baker Holman, Jr.

William Baker Holman Jr., 81, of Farmville, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. He was born in Farmville on October 10, 1934 to the late William B and Frances Sanderson Holman.

He spent many years working as a logger and raising his nine children working on a family farm. He raised beef cows and a very large garden. He was a simple man who believed in hard work and loved his family.

He is survived by his children, Irving B. Holman (Catherine) of Cumberland, Jesse W. Holman of Cumberland, John A. Holman of Cumberland, Frankie E. Holman (Bernadette) of Farmville, Mary A. Mullins (Paul) of TX, Sandra M. Landis (Glenn) of Cumberland, and Patricia Lynn Morton (Rocky) of TX; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James, a daughter, Verna, a brother, Nathan Holman, sister, Nannie Holman and a baby sister, Frances Holman.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17 at 2 p.m. in the Holman family cemetery, Cumberland.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 16 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.
