BUCKINGHAM — A suspect has been identified by police in Buckingham following a stabbing reported Saturday night.
The incident was reported at the intersection of Slate River Mill and Howardsville roads, said Buckingham Sheriff William G. “Billy” Kidd Jr.
“Two people were cut,” Kidd said.
He said one was airlifted to the UVA Medical Center because of their injuries.
“Basically what it was is they were having a family get together up there,” Kidd said. “And some uninvited guests in two or three vehicles came pulling up and decided to invite themselves and they got into an argument. One of them whipped out a knife.”
The incident remains under investigation, Kidd said. Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at (434) 969-1772 or Crimestoppers at (434) 969-4800.
