Scottsville Community Day

On Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Scottsville will celebrate community, culture and family friendly activities. Come early to enjoy crafts and fresh produce from 8 a.m.-noon at the Scottsville Farmer’s Market. Community Day festivities begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. at Canal Basin Square, with food vendors and local artisans, as well as live performances from 1-3 p.m. by Virginia Blues Society. The Fourth Annual Lion’s Club Duck Derby, “Quackin’ Down the James,” will begin at 2:30 p.m., with many more community activities, such as SCAN photography workshops; VCNA trail walks; museum tours; Scottsville Scavenger Hunt; and the town’s monthly art festival, Scottsville Second Saturdays, all on one day.
