The Piedmont Singers is a choral music project directed and founded by Helena von Rueden, assistant professor of fine arts at Hampden-Sydney. The ensemble is made up of eight professional vocalists from the central Virginia area, including two Longwood University professors and one Hampden-Sydney professor, singing a cappella choral music.

This season, the Singers will perform 20th- century works from American, French and Baltic composers, as well as a set of familiar folk and jazz arrangements.

The event will start at 7:30 p.m. in College Church and is sponsored by the Hampden-Sydney College Music Series. It is a part of Hampden-Sydney’s continuing commitment to the intellectual and cultural enrichment of the Southside community and is free and open to the public.
