PRINCE EDWARD — An ambulance transported an unidentified person from the scene of an apparent rollover crash on U.S. 360 eastbound just inside the Prince Edward County line from Nottoway County around 6 p.m Sunday.

Prince Edward County deputies on the scene said the unidentified victim was taken to Centra Southside Community Hospital. Several Meherrin Volunteer Fire Department units, including Heavy Rescue Squad 5 and an ambulance responded to the scene, as did the nearby Burkeville Fire Rescue Squad. Deputies handled traffic at the scene, and the Virginia State Police is investigating the cause of the crash.
